Although a small museum, the Museum of the Island of Cozumel has interesting historical artifacts. One gallery is devoted to the coral reefs with exhibits about the growth of coral and an mock up of a reef.

The Museum provides a geographic view and history of Cozumel in four exhibition rooms.

Mayan Carvings

My favorite part of the museum was an inner courtyard with a Mayan home. A Mayan man explained the construction and
other Mayan items.

The power went out several times while I was touring the Cozumel Island Museum

Mayan home.
