Friday - day 3 (continued)

We had supper at the Carriage House, an upscale restaurant in the Iroquois Hotel where I had the most expensive, but nearly least appealing food of the trip. However, we had one of the best tables in the house with a wonderful view of Round Island Passage.

We might have done better with other selections from the menu, but one of my favorite parts of a trip to the Straits of Mackinac is the fresh fish. We started with two whitefish cakes, which were fairly good. Linda's broiled whitefish was also OK, but my sautéed perch were neither attractive or tasty.

As we were about to leave, Linda spotted a 1,000' freighter approaching the passage and I ran out to get photos of the combination of the boat, rising full moon, and the lighthouses. The next hour was spent taking photos along the shore with the moon.

We finished the night with drinks and listening to Myk Rise sing and play guitar at the Pink Pony Bar in our hotel. He is the Chippewa Hotel's house musician, playing in the bar in the evening and on the patio in the afternoon.
